Single Payer Healthcare: Social Insurance vs. Medical Darwinism

The first section covers what Single Payer is likely to cost, and which taxes could be increased to pay for it. I make a special effort to be realistic about both savings and revenues. I used to be an actuarial student, and it shows.

The second section discusses the challenges that would face Single Payer –from low-wage employers, pro-lifers, insurers, specialists, hospitals, and drug companies.

The final section is entitled “Time for an Assault on Medical Debt.” This is a detailed discussion of our hideous situation — including the role of high deductibles, mercenary debt collectors, and apologists for public selfishness.

New laws and stronger government agencies are called for, and their mission will be explained in detail.
